About

A Little Bit About Me and What I Love To Do:

I really love being a photographer and getting to share such special moments with people..... I know how crucial a photographer is for recording your wonderful wedding day so you can enjoy it for years to come..... I photograph weddings in a very photojournalistic style. I want to capture the very real moments you share with your new husband, your guests, and your family.....

I'm a senior at West Virginia University. I will be graduating in May 2010 with a degree in Journalism: News-Editorial with a focus in Visual Communications and a minor in Business Administration. I have had my news photos published in several newspapers throughout the state such as Times West Virginian, SpinIt, and The Charleston Daily Mail. I have also had several articles published in WVU's campus newspaper, the Daily Athenaeum.

I have personally photographed weddings, family portraits, seniors' pictures, and contestants of the Doddridge county pageant. I also spent a summer interning for WV Photographer of the year Lora Yeater. During this time I worked with families, small children, and high school seniors. I used a reflector, positioned lights, set lights, positioned subjects, set up some poses, created sets, and set backdrops.

The past year of my life was so busy and I was carrying an 18 hour course load. So, expanding my portfolio got pushed onto the "I'll get around to it" list. However, since then my efforts to learn have gone into overdrive. I have had experience being the multi-media person for a class full of journalists who need video, still photography, or audio. Practically every day I received a new media request. I also worked on a multi-media project for Artists with Disabilities. Currently I am working on WVU's WV Uncoverend project.

I really want to focus on weddings and couples portraits. I love being a photographer and having fun with the people I'm able to photograph. Because of my major I photograph in a very photojournalistic way. I try and stay out of your way and stand back and capture the special moments of the day. I like my pictures to be candid and natural. I spend very little time posing. The best pictures are ones when you're able to show true emotions rather than show a forced smile for an hour in posed shots. I want you to enjoy your wedding day, have fun, laugh, and be in love with your new spouse. These are the things that I try and capture for you so that you can relive the day as often as you like.
